What is Neawist?
Neawist is a community-driven platform where residents share authentic reviews about neighborhoods and residencies (apartments, houses, buildings). Whether you're renting or buying, Neawist helps you make informed decisions based on real experiences from people who actually live there.
What's the difference between a neighborhood and a residency?
Neighborhoodsare broader areas (like "Jordaan" in Amsterdam or "Feijenoord" in Rotterdam) where you can learn about the general vibe, amenities, safety, and community feel.
Residencies are specific buildings or addresses (apartments, houses) where you can see reviews about the property itself—landlord quality, building maintenance, noise levels, and more.
Is Neawist free to use?
Yes! Neawist is completely free for residents. You can search, read reviews, and post your own experiences at no cost. Our mission is to help communities support each other.
Which countries does Neawist cover?
We currently focus on the Netherlands, with plans to expand to more countries in Europe. If you'd like Neawist in your country, let us know at [email protected].
Reviews
How do I write a review?
To write a review:
- Create a free account (sign in with Google)
- Search for the neighborhood or residency
- Click "Add Review"
- Share your honest experience and rate it across different dimensions (safety, noise, amenities, etc.)
Do I need to live somewhere to review it?
Yes. We only accept reviews from people who have actually lived in or currently live in the place they're reviewing. This ensures authenticity and keeps our community trustworthy.
Can I review anonymously?
Yes! You can choose to post as a fully anonymous user in your profile settings. This will hide your avatar and display a generic username instead of your real name or profile picture.
By default, reviews show your display name and avatar (profile picture from Google), but you have full control over your visibility. You still need a verified account to post reviews (to prevent spam and fake reviews).
Can I edit or delete my review?
Yes! You can edit or delete your reviews at any time from your profile. Go to Profile → Reviews Posted to manage your content.
Are reviews moderated?
Yes. We moderate reviews to ensure they follow our Community Guidelines. Reviews that contain hate speech, personal attacks, fake information, or violate our policies will be removed. Our goal is to keep Neawist a safe, helpful space for everyone.
What if I see a fake or inappropriate review?
You can report any review that violates our guidelines. Click the report icon on the review, and our moderation team will investigate. We take fake reviews seriously.
Privacy & Safety
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We take privacy seriously and comply with GDPR and Dutch privacy laws. We only collect essential information (name, email), and all data is stored securely within the EU. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Do you share data with third parties?
Never. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or third parties. Data is only used to improve your experience.
How do you verify reviews?
Reviews come from verified accounts. We also use automated tools and manual review to remove fake or spammy content. If we suspect a review is fake, we investigate and take action.
Can I control who sees my reviews?
Yes. You decide whether to post anonymously, show your name, or hide your avatar. You can change your anonymity settings at any time in your profile.
